Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off his two-day visit to Gujarat today with several events planned. While in the state, the Prime Minister will take a ride on the Vande Bharat Express and the Ahmedabad Metro while attending Navaratri celebrations.

Prime Minister Modi will start his visit from where he will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various projects to the nation worth more than Rs. 3400 crores. Major projects to be inaugurated include water supply, drainage projects, DREAM city, biodiversity park and other development works.

The Prime Minister took to Twitter to share news of his visit to Surat in a series of tweets, he wrote, “I am looking forward to being in Surat tomorrow. This city has shown how hard work can lead to wonders. One of Surat’s greatest strengths is the city’s diversity – people from all states and cultures happily live and work here. Works worth Rs. 3400 crore will be dedicated to the nation.”

In another tweet, he wrote: “The works to be laid or dedicated to the nation include projects related to urban regeneration, a biodiversity park, a science center and phase 2 of DREAM City. These works will ensure a better quality of life for the inhabitants of Surat.”

After Surat, the Prime Minister will travel to Bhavnagar where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects of higher value 5200 crores. At around 7:00 p.m., he will open the 36th National Games at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and around 9:00 p.m., he will attend the Navratri Festival at GMDC Ground, Ahmedabad.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the world’s first CNG terminal and brownfield port as well as the Bhavnagar Regional Science Centre.

Sharing the news of his visit to Bhavnagar, the Prime Minister wrote, “The city of Bhavnagar has a glorious history and outstanding culture. During a program in Bhavnagar, development works worth Rs. 5200 crore will either be dedicated to the nation or their foundation stone will be laid. These works are related to energy, water supply and ports”

He added, “Bhavnagar is ready to get a CNG terminal and brownfield port project. The economic benefits of these would be immense. Water supply projects will help our hard-working farmers.”

On the second day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will disembark the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at Gandhinagar Railway Station and transfer from the train to Kalupur Railway Station.

It will then point out the Ahmedabad metro railway project and take a metro ride from Kalupur station to Doordarshan Kendra metro station.

Later today, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than 7200 crore and perform Darshan and Pooja at Ambaji temple while also attending Maha Aarti at Gabbar Tirtha.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office on the occasion said: “The inauguration and the foundation stone of these large-scale development projects reflect the Prime Minister’s commitment to developing world-class infrastructure, enhancing urban mobility and improve multimodal connectivity”.
