ONTONGAGON – Stanley John Voldarski, 75, of Ontonagon, passed away on December 7, 2021, after a long stay at UP Health System – Marquette.

Stanley was born in Hancock to Charles and Eleanor (Makela) Voldarski.

He graduated in 1964 from Hancock High School and then entered the military until 1967 when he served in Germany.

After an honorable discharge from service, he became an employee at the White Pine Mine and remained there until it closed. Stanley was then employed at the Ojibwa Casino in Baraga until his retirement.

Stanley married Diana Daniels on September 6, 1975.

He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Richard.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; children, Charles of Ontonagon, Christopher (Stevie) of Elizabethtown, Ky., Joey (Pamela) of L’Anse; brothers, Martin (Guy) and Roger; sister, Charolotte; grandchildren, Ariel, Aurora, Olivia, Kayden, Kara and Jaiden; and her adorable puppy Milo.

Cardiac staff on the fourth floor at UP Health System – Marquette said it felt like Stan was their grandfather, which was heartwarming for the family. Stan’s family appreciated the kind and loving care he received and will be eternally grateful.

There will be a Memorial Luncheon on December 19, 2021 at Ontonagon VFW from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

A ceremony with the folding of the flag will take place at 1 p.m.

Cane Funeral Home assists the family in the process.
